Website Design – NJ Computers

NJ COMPUTERS – I was personally asked by someone I know in the community where I live to create a website for his business (he runs a small computer store). He wanted something simple and that can be easily updated by his small staff. I decided to give him a WordPress based site using one of my templates.

His original website design was just a few static pages. With the WordPress site along with the database and the webhosting that I provided for him, this would make it much easier for him to update his website whenever he wants to.

Website Design – Dasaco Enterprises

DASACO – There was a point in time in my life when I was a full time graphic artist. That’s when I used to work in a small company called Dasaco Enterprises. I did a good amount of work there – since I was the only graphic artist ( i.e: long hours ) – I did a number of designs for product placement (none of which I can show you since they belong to the company).

I also created one of their magazines and of course I created their first REAL website design – their previous website before my arrival was just one page. Staying in Dasaco was a learning experience – but I went back to teaching afterwards. They’ve made changes to their website design since my departure, but I know I made major changes while I was there – the boss told me so, LOL.

Also, this was the only time in my life that I ever bothered using a Mac – I’m a PC fan for life!

Website Design – School of Business and Computer Science

SBCS – In the beginning of the second part of my teaching career, I began lecturing at the School of Business and Computer Science back in 2003. The very first thing that I was asked to do by the Managing Director and Founder of the school ( in the actual interview ) was to restructure their website to make it look more attractive and easier to navigate. I landed the job and got my first web design project on the same day.

The school’s original website had a drab gray color ( it was not appealing to look at ), it was hard to navigate, and nobody in the I.T Department really wanted to work on it – and that’s where I came in.

I redesigned the color scheme to “blue / white” to make it look more attractive and I created a distributed navigation system ( links running along the top and left of each page ).

It was instantly approved and the general design still remains there to this day.

I no longer need to work on the website design of this site – I still work at the school, but I only do lectures in various Web and Graphic Design programs.

Changes have been made to the website over the years ( it now runs on a database and it can be updated by various departments ) but its good to see that my original design structure is still inherently there.

Welcome to the Graphics Web Network. This is my portfolio site and computer graphics/webdesign portal. On this site you can view my ever-growing collection of 2d-3d artwork and other design collections.

You can also get access to all of the graphics tips, articles, tutorials, books and other resources for the various programs that I use to create 2d & 3d artwork, 3d animations and other graphics and web related projects: 3DS Max, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and more.

I first started off with computers when I was in my late teens – that was back in the days of DOS. Many people these days have absolutely no idea what DOS is – they’ve grown so accustomed to Windows – LOL. From those early days, till now, I’ve always had a keen interest in computers – and I just don’t see that changing anytime soon.

I actually used to be interested in the world of Banking – imagine that – and I worked in a Credit Union for two years as an Accounts Clerk – but even back then, I knew that the world of computers was where I needed to be.

My first teaching job was in a place called YTEPP. I spent five years there teaching Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office applications. I worked in other places also, but this was my first “teaching” job. I may have stayed in YTEPP longer, but as time went by there was more “politics” than teaching going on and I simply decided to leave to find another place to teach. I joined the School of Business and Computer Science in 2003 and that’s when my second era of teaching began.

Besides teaching Computer Literacy & Microsoft Office applications, I also began teaching Computer Graphics & Web Design programs – and I still do this today. During that time I always got questions from my graphics class students about furthuring their education in this field and I am proud to say that after two years of begging and pleading with my course administrators, the “Diploma in Graphic Design” is now availble in my school. I taught the very first class (Introduction to Computer Graphics) in January 2010 – so all of that begging and pleading was not in vain after all – LOL

I am one of the few 3D Graphics lecturers in my country – and I’m also the only lecturer that teaches 3D Graphics ( 3DS Max ) in my school – so I guess that places me in a rather unique position. 3D Graphics is not a big career topic in my country ( unlike the U.S ) but I want to do my part to help pioneer this change.

Sometimes I would build websites for people, upon request, but teaching and designing is my main career.

Well as you can see, with all the stuff that I do, it keeps me rather busy – but I always have time for questions ( I guess that’s the lecturer in me – LOL ). So if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to let me know via the “Contact” page.

Regards,
